§ 75.07. ACCIDENT REPORTS.

  • 1. If a snowmobile is involved in an accident resulting in injury or death to anyone or property damage amounting in fifteen hundred dollars ($1,500.00) or more, either the operator or someone acting for the operator shall immediately notify the Sheriff or another law enforcement officer in the State. If the accident occurred on public land or ice under the jurisdiction of the Natural Resource Commission of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, the operator shall file with the Natural Resource Commission a report of the accident, within seventy-two (72) hours, containing information as the Natural Resources Commission may require. All other accidents shall be reported as required under Section 321.266 of the Code of Iowa.
